FYI!

Zinfandel!  One of my all time favorite varietals!  I especially love the big, lush, full bodied, jammy ones! The Zinfandel we are currently pouring comes from Marietta Cellars, a family run winery in Geyserville in the famous Sonoma Region of California. This is a full bodied red wine with aromas & flavors of blackberry & black currant jam, with plum & peppery spice notes with hints of leather & toasty oak.  A great winter wine! 

A brief history note on Zinfandel → Zinfandel is known as the American Grape but it is the twin brother of Primitvio from Italy & most recently was discovered to be genetically equivalent to the Croatian grape Crljenak Kaštelanski.  It is typically high in

alcohol with the best examples in CA coming from the Dry Creek Valley in Sonma, Amador Co & Napa Valley from older vines, some over 100 years old!  Check out Zinfandels Advocates & Producers (ZAP) on www.zinfandel.org
